Features
Rooftop units (RTUs) are monobloc machines composed of the combined functions of air handling, cooling, and heat pump systems. For this reason, they require a dedicated solution. The SH Pod Advanced Rooftop casing features multiple streamlined access points, facilitating routine maintenance and enabling full accessibility, even during major servicing operations. The system incorporates high-efficiency aphonic grilles, designed to maximise open surface area for optimal airflow across the heat exchange coils. For enhanced noise control, thin-baffle silencers may be fitted on both supply and return ducts, effectively attenuating sound transmission without compromising unit performance.
Thanks to patented Slim Hurdle™ technology, all silenced components maintain a low pressure drop, which, combined with the radiation shielding of the sound-absorbing casing, ensures high efficiency and contributes to reduced overall energy consumption.
The acoustic silencers and aphonic grilles forming the soundproofing casing are equipped with 20 mm thick lamellar baffles, designed to minimise pressure drop (below 10 Pa). The casing can also serve as a visual screen for the unit and is fully customisable in any RAL colour. The system delivers acoustic attenuation of up to 19 dB(A), while preserving full unit functionality.
SH Pod Advanced, the plug & play synergy
In combination with RTUs, the SH Pod soundproofing casing offers an ideal synergy. Designed for rapid and straightforward installation, it provides effective noise protection even in demanding applications. This is particularly valuable when units are positioned close to potential sources of disturbance, making the RTU and SH Pod configuration a truly versatile plug-and-play solution. Aesthetic screening is another key advantage of the SH Pod. It can be finished in any RAL colour, allowing seamless integration into exposed plant installations. In addition, it protects the unit from extreme weather conditions, including hail.
SH Pod Advanced Rooftop is the only soundproofing product that can be installed within the clearance limits of the equipment without altering its operation functionality, resulting in substantial space optimisation within rooftop installations.
